You have enough to think about when you’re visiting a church for the first time. Let’s get some of the necessary questions out of the way now, so when you get to Grand Rapids Assembly you can experience the great music and friendly people, and connect with the message of hope that God has for you!
What can I expect on my first visit?
Casual dress Come as you are! You'll feel comfortable in jeans or business casual wear. We’re more interested with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear.
Hospitality team As you enter the building, we make sure the first face you see at our church has a smile on it!
Age-appropriate services for the kids If you have children, we know that your children are looking for a great place to learn! You'll want to take advantage of our safe and secure children's services designed just for kids. We have a nursery for kids birth-2 years old, a toddlers church for kids ages 3-5, and Tree House Kids is for kids ages 6-12.
Where is everything? The main sanctuary at our church is through the main doors then off to the right, everyone but nursery kids and toddlers church starts in here. The nursery is straight across the foyer from the main doors. Just come in and keep walking straight till you get there. The toddlers church room is the next classroom to the left of the nursery. The Tree House Kids meet in our fellowship hall. It's the gym to the left when you come in the main doors. The bathrooms are down the hallway to the left of the main doors as well.
Our Buildings Don't be confused; there are 2 of them. The lower, bigger, building is our main building and that is where most things happen. The upper building is our youth center. The teens meet up there on wednesday nights, along with some adult classes.
Handicap accessible Our building was designed to be, and is, handicap accessible in every way. The main building is all on one floor, and every room is accessible.
Friendly ushers Our ushers will welcome you into the worship center and hand you our information-filled weekend program. Then, you’re free to give the service a test drive—sit back, relax, and enjoy the service! When the offering time comes, please know that you are under no obligation to give, and we really mean that! Giving is an act of worship for those who call our church home.
Welcome Packet If you are new to our church we'd like to get our welcome packet into your hands. You may receive one at the door and there will also be a time when we hand them out during the service. Just get the attention of one of our ushers and they'll hand you a packet that contains some information about our church. There is also a little card in there we'd like you fill out and drop in the offering basket as it goes by. This is just one way we can get to know you a little better.
Powerful worship service Our goal as a church is for you experience Jesus. Be it through music, teaching of the Word of God, or prayer times, come join us as we continue to passionately pursue Jesus! |
